“So in Christ, we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others…” Romans 12:5
This verse is a salient reminder that we are all part of the body of Christ …. together in Christ, at all times, in all ways, no matter what stage of life, ministry or Sunday service, we inexorably function as the body in Jesus.
Next Sunday I urge you to make it a priority, as far as possible, to join us at 10am and for the lunch after as we share a rare time all together giving thanks to God.
Beside our fellowship, prayer is another powerful expression of our ‘body life’ in Christ. Every week we publish a list of people to pray for. The names are much more than just a list; they are people loved by Jesus. Every time we pray for the needs of one of our body we are praying for the health of our whole body. These prayers bring us closer to one another in Christ in the healthiest expression of our spiritual lives.
Val Mather (8am) has been compiling this list for us for the longest time. Val has now prayerfully stepped out of this role and I take a moment to thank her for her tireless follow up and care of so many for so long.
This responsibility will be picked up by a pastoral team of people across our Church. I invite you to help us by making your need for prayer known to the ministry staff or through the Office and so enable us to better function as the body of Christ.
