KAC going greener

Kiama Anglican Churches has received grant funding of $12,500 from the Australian Government through the Solar Communities Program for solar panels for the Church Point Centre (Batteries NOT included). Work will be completed by the end of September. Huge thanks go to Steve Hackett, member of Parish Council, for his tireless diligence and enthusiasm in researching options with suppliers and government so it happens.

Since we completed the Church Point Centre five (5) years ago we have been hosting many community focused initiatives: Kiama Community College which meets each week in the Training Rooms; seniors’ groups such as Community Cooking classes, our own Care Cafes and Prime Time as well as Kiama Council’s Dementia Friendly workshops; plus the Kiama Folk Festival in September. We also host many weekly activities and community gatherings: Monday’s huge Baby Playgroups for mums and bubs, Tuesday’s Mini Music for young toddlers, and Friday youth activities for nearly 100 youth of all ages.

All this as well as our thriving Sunday worship services for our multi-generational church of locals and Australian and International holiday-makers.

Help us become better stewards of our power resources as we serve the Kiama community.
